First Airbus A220 Produced in Mobile Takes off for Maiden Flight

On 2 June Airbus marked a special milestone. The first Airbus A220-300 built at final assembly line (FAL) in Mobile, Alabama, took off for the maiden flight.

According to Airbus, aircraft manufactured for Delta performed ” test sequences” and successfully landed.

The 1st Airbus #A220 aircraft produced at the U.S. Manufacturing Facility has flown for the 1st time. The A220-300, destined for @Delta Air Lines, took off from the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in Mobile, AL, this morning, performed its test sequences & landed safely at 1:44 pm. pic.twitter.com/4P8mr74im8

The A220’s primary production facility and program headquarters are located in Mirabel, Canada. The very first A220 destined to Delta was produced in Canada. The latest one is the very first A220 assembled in the US.
