Since British Airways canceled its agreement with Comair on the 1st of August because of the South African airline’s liquidation, it now needs a new South African partner.
The airline wants a new partner to come from the massive influx of travelers that British Airways connects to and from South Africa.
Many scheduled carriers would undoubtedly be in the market for a lucrative contract to partner with British Airways. However, any would unlikely be keen to take the franchise route. Airlines like Airlink, CemAir and FlySafair have strong brands. While they may look favorably on a codeshare or interline with British Airways, there is a low chance they will be repainting any of their airplanes in the Chatham Dockyard scheme.
