U.S. aftermarket specialist AAR has signed an agreement with Indian carrier IndiGo to provide support for landing gear overhaul services on its fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.

The contract will cover up to 49 landing gear full ship sets, as well as assemblies and subassemblies, over a five-year period.

It expands on an existing component supply partnership between the two parties. AAR currently conducts landing gear repair work at its specialist center in Miami, Florida.

Rahul Shah, AAR senior vice president, strategic growth and business development, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, said: “Our quick turnaround times are one of the reasons we’ve landed several maintenance and repair contracts with low-fare and regional carriers in the past few months.”

IndiGo, headquartered in Gurgaon, is India’s largest airline by passengers carried. It currently operates a fleet 129 Airbus A320 family jets, with plans to more than treble its fleet size with the additions of A320neo and A321neo aircraft.
