AFI KLM E&M has won a major call for tenders from Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), covering component support for its future fleet of Airbus A350s, with twelve aircraft joining the fleet from this summer. AFI KLM E&M was selected as MRO for Thai Airways, providing a wide array of services including access to its global pool of A350 components, maintenance, logistics, and a comprehensive material support at Thai Airways main base in Bangkok.
Paired 787 / A350 trust
In 2015, AFI KLM E&M won a similar large-scale contract for the eight Boeing 787s ordered by THAI, six of which are currently in revenue service. Like the 787, the A350 is a new-generation aircraft on which AFI KLM E&M has developed considerable expertise. AFI KLM E&M stands out for its operational efficiency and competitive rates as it strives to conquer a developing A350 market.
Mr Chalermpon Intarawong, Executive Vice President, THAI Technical, said:
“The awarded contract is a sign of potential for competencies as AFI KLM E&M stepped up to the plate to meet the requirements of Thai Airways for the entire array of A350 Maintenance services. The continuity of services as chosen by Thai Airways has even demonstrated the ability of AFI KLM E&M to offer both very competitive prices and the usual high service quality that is a credit to its reputation as an MRO.”
For his part, Mr Franck Terner, Executive Vice President AIR FRANCE KLM Engineering & Maintenance said:
“We are very proud of Thai Airways renewed trust and to further extend cooperation between our two companies. THAI is one of the leading airlines in Southeast Asia which demanding quality standards contribute to make us continuously improve ours.”
