Russian and German authorities have agreed to add Memmingen to the list of destinations in Germany open to service by Russian carriers.
The city’s Allgau airport is used by budget airlines as an entry point for Munich, which lies some 100km to the east.
Aeroflot Group’s low-cost carrier Pobeda has previously indicated a desire to operate to Memmingen.
Russian air transport regulator Rosaviatsia has disclosed details of the new Russian-German protocol, following bilateral talks between the two sides in Bonn on 25-26 November.
It says that Memmingen has been included as an “additional point” for Russian operators. On the Russian side the protocol replaces the destination of Perm with Kaluga.
