British Airways Welcomes Its First Airbus A350-1000

British Airways, the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom, has finally welcomed its first out of 18 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The plane which arrived at the airline’s hub at London Heathrow, makes British Airways the first within the International Airlines Group (IAG) to operate this type.

Prior to deploying the widebody aircraft for long-haul flights from September, the airline will operate it on the London-Madrid route. Four more A350-1000s are expected to join the current fleet by the end of 2019.

The new plane features the airline’s newest generation business class seat, Club Suite. which offers direct-aisle access, a suite door for greater privacy and luxurious flat-bed seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. Thus, the new A350XWB three-class layout includes 56 Club Suites, 56 World Traveller Plus and 219 World Traveller economy seats.
