The brand new carrier launched operations with two Airbus A320 aircraft based at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The capital’s first low-cost carrier follows the business model of Air Arabia and complements the services of Etihad Airways from Abu Dhabi.
“This joint venture between Etihad and Air Arabia will offer the nation’s citizens and residents a great new option for air travel from the UAE’s vibrant capital city,” said Tony Douglas, CEO of Etihad Aviation Group.
Soon, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi would be not the only low-coster of the city. In October, 2020, the second budget airline is about to commence its services – Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. Two Airbus A321neo planes will serve six new routes connecting Abu Dhabi with Europe and Egypt.
