Menzies Aviation to Cut 186 Jobs at Portland International Airport

The company that provides ground handling services for Alaska Airlines at PDX will eliminate nearly 200 jobs in mid-October.

Menzies Aviation announced the ramp and cabin cleaner positions will be eliminated October 19, with approximately 186 people losing their jobs that day.

The company made the announcement in a WARN Letter to the Oregon Employment Department last Thursday.

On their website, Menzies Aviation describes themselves as “a global provider of passenger, ramp and cargo handling services.” The company began in 1995 and now operating at 140 stations in 31 countries and employs more tha 21,500 people.
