The Indian government denies media reports claiming that Tata Sons has won the bid to acquire Air India.

It said the bids are being evaluated, and the decision is yet to be taken. “Media reports indicating approval of financial bids by Government decision as and when it is taken,“ Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) secretary posted on Twitter. The ministry advised that the media would receive advice on the final decision once it has been made.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the government had selected Tata Sons as the winning bidders for Air India. Reporting suggested that an announcement would be made in the next few days.
