TRU Simulation + Training Inc., a Textron Inc. company, announced today that it is expanding its ProFlight® training capability for several popular Cessna business jet models, including the Cessna Citation CJ4, Cessna Citation CJ3+ and Cessna Citation M2. Pilot training for the Citation CJ4 will be offered at TRU’s West Coast training center in Carlsbad, California, while the Citation CJ3+ and Citation M2 training will be offered at TRU’s East Coast training center in Tampa, Florida.

All three of the program’s full flight simulators are expected to receive Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification in the fourth quarter of 2016. On-site recurrent courses are slated to be available in the fourth quarter of 2016, while the Current 365® course and popular distance learning option is planned to be available in the first quarter of 2017.

TRU’s ProFlight product offering features highly individualized instruction using a combination of learning modalities. These methods include best-in-class interactive courseware, an advanced proprietary NextGen flight training device, and a high-fidelity, state-of-the-art Level D full flight simulator — as well as classroom training from experienced, current pilot instructors. In addition, the NextGen flight training device closely matches the actual aircraft cockpit and offers the industry’s first Live Air Traffic Control interface to better prepare pilots for aircraft operations. TRU will offer a mix of courses for these aircraft models: initial aircraft and initial type rating, recurrent, avionics introduction, as well as ProFlight’s online Current 365 continuous currency courses where the student receives access to highly integrated online courseware for recurrent training from the comfort of their own home.

David Smith, Vice President of Training Centers, stated that, “We are thrilled to continue expanding our industry-leading training capabilities to meet our customers’ needs. Our ProFlight training philosophy was built upon customizable courseware to best fit the individual student’s learning style and thus maximize pilot confidence — and this is the same platform from which we continue to build our training programs.”
