United Airlines announced it would start offering new flights to Croatia, Greece and Iceland in July. These countries are already open or soon will be available to vaccinated travelers.

The new services the airline has started have seen a great demand as over 3,000 bookings were made shortly after the launch. Despite the warnings against international travel and complications like a requirement for a negative test to come back to the US, Americans have shown a will to travel.

„We have seen in recent weeks, immediately after a country provides access with proof of a vaccine, leisure demand returns to the level of 2019 quickly. We’ve adjusted our schedule to take advantage of these opportunities this spring and summer,“ said Andrew Nocella, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at United.

United Airlines also looks forward to the UK’s reopening, which is likely to be prompted by successful vaccinations between the two countries. Other US carriers such as Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic are also pushing for this.
