Unlike most airlines, Wizz Air has been expanding rapidly during the pandemic and is now adding 143 new routes.
Routes to and from Italy and Greece are the most popular. In total, with additional routes added, Wizz Air will have 207 routes to and from Italy and 83 to and from Greece. You can find a variety of other additional routes on the company’s website. Some of them, such as Dortmund-Palma, Kyiv Zhulyany-Milan Malpensa, Pisa-Tirana, and Belgrade-Hamburg, have already started.
Since the pandemic struck, Wizz Air has added over 30 new aircraft, which impacted the ULCC’s changes.
Speaking at Routes Reconnected last year, József Váradi, Wizz Air’s CEO, said: “From a business standpoint, coronavirus is an opportunity to position Wizz Air versus the industry to come out as a much stronger player, a much more formidable competing force.”
