Reading Time: < 1 minuteThe first Airbus A320neo aircraft under the Hungarian HA-LJA registration has joined the fleet of European low-cost carrier Wizz Air.
It is already 122 aircraft in Wizz Air fleet, which consists exclusively of Airbus planes. The A320neo type has been introduced to the fleet of the budget carrier with this recent delivery.
“This new aircraft is a true symbol of our ULCC business model by delivering significant cost advantages as well as further lowering Wizz Air’s emissions,” said József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air.
The new aircraft is powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines. With the new A320neo Wizz Air aims to contribute to greener aviation, as the type offers “nearly a 50% reduction in noise footprint, a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and a nearly 50% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions compared to previous generation aircraft”.
“Wizz Air is the lowest cost producer in Europe operating the youngest and economically most efficient fleet of aircraft with the lowest environmental footprint,” added CEO of the company.
According to Airbus orders & deliveries sheet, Wizz Air has a total of 65 Airbus A320neo on order.
