Russian airlines carried 7.7 million passengers in October, up 4% year-over-year (YOY), according to Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia.
International traffic was down 1.8% to 3 million passengers, while domestic traffic grew 8.2% to 4.6 million passengers.
In the January-October period, Russian airlines carried 75.3 million passengers, down 6.8% YOY. Aeroflot carried 24.3 million passengers in the 10-month period, up 10.5% YOY. Sibir, a part of S7 Airlines, carried 8.2 million passengers, up 17.8%. Rossiya Airlines carried 6.9 million passengers, up 63.1% YOY. UTair Aviation carried 5.6 million, up 17.3%. Ural Airlines carried 5.5 million, up 16.7% YOY.
The total share of Russia’s five biggest airlines in the market grew to 67.1% from 52.8% in the year-ago period.
