Airbus reported firm orders for 14 commercial aircraft in November, valued at $1.6 billion at list prices, from two airlines and one undisclosed customer.
The Toulouse-based manufacturer’s biggest order for the month came from an undisclosed customer Nov. 15, for five A321ceos and three A320ceos, valued at $868.5 million. Additionally, Sharjah, UAE-based low-cost carrier (LCC) Air Arabia ordered five A320ceos, valued at $490 million, and US-based Hawaiian Airlines placed an order for an A330-200, valued at $231.5 million at list prices.
Year-to-date, Airbus’ gross commercial aircraft order total stands at 591 aircraft, valued at approximately $80.2 billion. Taking cancellations into account, Airbus has logged net orders for 410 aircraft through Nov. 30. As of that date, Airbus’ overall backlog stood at 6,664 aircraft (5,460 A320 family aircraft, 393 A330s, 761 A350 XWBs and 119 A380s).
Airbus delivered 61 commercial aircraft to 34 airlines and 10 lessors in November. Through Nov. 30, Airbus delivered 575 commercial aircraft year-to-date.
Airbus’ November deliveries included three aircraft each to British LCC easyJet (all A320ceos), Singapore lessor BOC Aviation (an A320ceo bound for Cambodia Angkor Air, an A321ceo bound for New York-based JetBlue Airways and an A321ceo bound for Australian LCC Jetstar Airways), and China Aircraft Leasing Group (all A320ceos bound for Vietnamese LCC Jetstar Pacific Airlines, China’s Lucky Air and Chinese LCC West Air, respectively).
The manufacturer delivered one A330-200 each to Spanish flag carrier Iberia Airlines and China’s Sichuan Airlines. Single A330-300 deliveries went to Air China, RwandAir and South African Airways. Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) took two A330-300s, via Dubai-based lessor International Airfinance Corp.
Additionally, Airbus delivered four A350-900s during the month—one each to Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, LATAM Airline Group and Qatar Airways. Two A380s, the first of Airbus’ new generation A380-388Q models, were delivered to Dubai-based Emirates Airline.
