Reading Time: < 1 minuteAeromexico is planning to relaunch Boeing 737 MAX flights on December 21st. According to some reports, the carrier will make round trips between Mexico City and three other essential destinations: Cancun, Tijuana, and Monterrey.
In total, Aeromexico has six Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and is expecting at least eight more. Based on Boeing’s information on Orders and Deliveries, Aeromexico has 60 Boeing 737 MAX on order.
The airline will become the second in the world to return Boeing 737 MAX to the skies. On December 3rd, the Mexican civil aviation authority AFAC issued an airworthiness directive. The document approves the narrowbody’s flight resumption provided that appropriate software updates, maintenance checks, and mandatory pilot training are put in place first.
Brazilian GOL was the first to reenter Boeing 737 MAX commercial service on December 9th. American Airlines will uplift its Boeing 737 MAX on December 29th, a short while after Aeromexico has its first Boeing 737 MAX flight.
