Reading Time: < 1 minuteBritish Airways plans to add extra seats on some routes from London to the US following the government’s announcement about no quarantine requirement for fully vaccinated travelers from the US and EU.
The new policy comes into force on August 2nd, so British Airways wants to be ready for a surge in bookings.
“Within a couple of hours, British Airways saw bookings from the US surging by 95%,” the airline notes in a statement.
“The additional flights will play a key part in kickstarting the British economy by welcoming much-needed tourism back to cities all over Britain.”
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming new visitors from the US and EU to the UK from next week, many of which will be reuniting with their family members for the first time in many months. This move will also help boost the British economy and the hospitality sector, which like aviation, has been crippled by the effects of the pandemic.” – Sean Doyle, Chairman and CEO.
