Reading Time: < 1 minuteOn July 15th, Turkey’s national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, broke its occupancy record.
“Yesterday, we hosted more than 260,000 passengers with an occupancy rate of over 87%. We had the busiest day in Turkish Airlines history,” the carrier’s senior vice president for media relations, Yahya Ustun, said on Twitter.
It represents an increase in capacity of 12% compared to the same period (Friday, July 12th) in 2019. The domestic capacity was deployed on the Istanbul to Antalya route (3,979 seats), whereas, for international services, Antalya to Moscow offered the highest number of seats (2,612 seats).
Turkish Airlines, founded in 1933 with a fleet of five aircraft, currently has nearly 380 aircraft and flies to 335 destinations in 129 countries.
