Reading Time: < 1 minuteA Gulfstream G650ER has set a speed record on a recognized course between Sydney and Los Angeles.
The aircraft departed Sydney Airport during the morning of March 11, and arrived at Los Angeles International Airport 12 hours and 40 minutes later at 01:15 March 12.
During the 6,620nm / 12,260km flight the aircraft had an average cruise speed of Mach 0.86.
The flight records have sent to the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale in Switzerland for recognition, but have already been approved by the US National Aeronautic Association.
“This latest speed record is another demonstration of the G650ER’s superior capabilities,” said Scott Neal, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Gulfstream.
“The unmatched range and speed of the G650ER enables operators to reach more destinations nonstop quickly and efficiently. No other business aircraft can connect Sydney to Los Angeles faster than the G650ER.”
Gulfstream say that the G650 and G650ER have so far accumulated 55 world records.
