Air France Flight Declares Emergency After Being Struck By Lightening

An Air France flight heading from Paris to Birmingham declared a mid-air emergency after it was hit by a bolt of lightening.

The passenger flight was leaving Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and was heading to the West Midlands when an alert was sounded. It later landed safely at Birmingham Airport with no one hurt during the incident.

A spokesman said: ‘I can confirm that AF1064 was hit by lightning during flight from Paris with an emergency being declared as a precaution.

All passengers have since disembarked the aircraft safely from the airport stand as usual.

A graphic of the plane’s flight-path was shared on the Nik’s News Twitter account, an aviation-watch site.
