AirTanker Services Ltd Introduces New Engineering Apprenticeship Programme

AirTanker Services Ltd is pleased to announce it has partnered with Resource Group, a UK CAA EASA Part-147 Approved Training Organisation, to launch the start of a new Aircraft Engineering apprenticeship programme following the signing of a letter of intent between the two companies last week.

From September 2016 four to six apprentices will start on a two year programme to gain a City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Diploma and Extended NVQ in Aeronautical Engineering and an EASA Part-66, Category A Licence.

AirTanker Services Managing Director, Keith Filbey explains: “This is an exciting time for the company to develop a future talent pipeline from individuals passionate about Engineering and who live in the local area”. “This is the first step for us to build our future talent by reaching out to the local community and supporting our continued growth”.

The apprentices will undergo their training at Resource Group’s Aviation Technical Training division (LRTT Ltd), located at Cotswold Airport, Gloucestershire, supplemented by periods of practical On the Job Training (OJT) at the AirTanker Services facilities, RAF Brize Norton.

Recruitment is expected to start in late March / early April with candidates expected to hold 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above including Maths, Physics and English. Further information on the course and application process will be published on the AirTanker website in due course.
