An Alliance Air Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A on behalf of Air India, performing flight from Mumbai to Diu (India), experienced tail strike on landing.

• Aircraft landed on Diu’s runway 05/23 (length 1825 meters/5900 feet) but struck its tail onto the runway surface.
• There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained substantial damage however.
• The return flight was cancelled.
