Austrian Airlines is expanding its flight offering to Spain and Italy just in time for the upcoming bathing suit and bikini season. As of today, the airline will fly to Jerez and Bari once a week. Flights to Bari will be offered with a stopover first in Lamezia Terme.
At the beginning of the year, bookings already revealed a shift in the holiday destinations of the average Austrian. In past years, there were frequent bookings to destinations in Tunisia and Turkey. The new trend is clearly towards vacationing in Spain and Italy.
Summer 2016
Due to the increased demand, Austrian Airlines has expanded its flight service to Italy and Spain. In addition to Bari, the airline is operating an additional third flight to Catania each week and a second weekly flight to Olbia. Two additional direct flights from Vienna will also be offered to Naples to increase the flight offering to five times a week. On balance, the current summer flight schedule includes 95 weekly flights to twelve destinations in Italy.
Austrian Airlines operates thirteen flights each week to Spain. It operates daily direct flight service from Vienna to Barcelona, and also offers one direct flight each week originating in Vienna to Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Menorca, Tenerife and Jerez.
