Austrian National Football Team Took Off for France

Today, at 1:05 pm the special Austrian Airlines flight number OS2651 took off from Vienna Airport heading for the UEFA EURO 2016 being held in France.

The red-white-red national carrier deployed an Airbus A320 to fly Head Coach Marcel Koller and the Austrian National Football Team together with team trainers, support staff and representatives of the Austrian Football Association ÖFB to Avignon in Southern France, where the players will move into their team accommodations.

The flight time to Aéroport d’Avignon at a distance of nearly 1,200 kilometers from Vienna is about two hours. A selected crew is on board the Austrian Airlines flight to ensure the well-being of the team.

Relaxation and peace and quiet are vitally important for the team in order to enable it to arrive there fit and prepared for a top notch sports performance at the competition.

Austrian Airlines is the official airline of the Austrian Football Association ÖFB, the largest sports association in the country. The red-white-red flagship carrier not only brings the athletes to UEFA EURO 2016 in France, but also to the away matches during the qualification phase of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
