Airbus is out to prove it is more than a plane manufacturer, with a new agreement that will call upon it to help Dubai promote and market new developments and properties.

The aircraft manufacturer signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai Land Department (DLD) today at Cityscape Global to leverage its aerospace and defense and space solutions provide geospatial imaging technology and develop 3D models of the city. These models will then be used by the DLD to develop more robust land management policies and improve its property valuation model.

“The partnership with DLD will open a wide number of opportunities for Airbus”, said the Middle East and Africa President, Mikail Houari.

“This will combine the geospatial technologies of Airbus and the unique expertise of DLD in Land Management to go one step beyond in the delivery innovative digital services to governments,” he said. Houari added that both Airbus and the DLD will also explore opportunities beyond Dubai as well.

The DLD is committed to exploring the most innovative solutions to promote Dubai properties globally and further enhance our customer service offerings through accessible and engaging digital technologies,” added Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department.

“We look forward to furthering our collaborative relationship with Airbus as we continue to explore the most pioneering technologies in line with Dubai’s Smart Government initiative.”
