Emirates Flight 203 has been quarantined after arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), as reported by the New York Mayor’s office.

100 people were reported to feeling ill with symptoms of coughing and fever.

A total of 521 passengers were on-board the Airbus A380 aircraft that flew to New York from Dubai.

Larry Coben, a passenger on board the plane, has tweeted “All we have been told is that some passengers have fallen ill and we should remain in our seats”. It is still unclear what caused the sudden illness on-board.

Emirates has released an official statement on its Twitter account confirming 10 passengers on flight EK203 have taken ill. Currently being attended by local health authorities, the airline expects remaining passengers to disembark shortly.
