Reading Time: < 1 minuteThere is a high possibility that the end of Airbus A380 era is closer than expected. Together with the news about Air France’s immediate retirement of the type, some doubts from the biggest customer have emerged as well.
Currently, Emirates has a fleet of 115 double-deckers and hold eight remaining A80s on order. According to Bloomberg, therefore, the Gulf carrier is considering the cancellation of five out of eight planes. This way Emirates would take only three until the end of fiscal year 2020.
However, Bloomberg provides that Airbus is not supportive of a possible decision as it already has A380s in assembly.
The talks as well as further details remain confidential, as the parties are in discussions.
