- Aircraft was climbing out of Jerez’s runway about 5 to 10 minutes into the flight when the aircraft received a ligthning strike.
- In the absence of abnormal indications the crew continued the flight to Dusseldorf for a safe landing about 2.5 hours after departure.
- A post flight inspection revealed the lightning had entered the nose of the aircraft near the cockpit and exited through the tail of the aircraft.
- There was damage to the nose disabling the aircraft to continue its schedule.
