Airbus announced that the first Japan Airways (JAL) A350-900 has been already painted featuring a special A350 XWB red logo on the fuselage. This A350 XWB is the first one manufactured directly for JAL.

The aircraft is expected to join JAL fleet “in early summer” after it goes through all the ground and flight tests. Right upon delivery the aircraft will be deployed on major domestic routes.

In total JAL has ordered 31 A350 XWB aircraft, comprising 18 A350-900s and 13 A350-1000s.
