- Aircraft was enroute at FL330 about 660nm southeast of Bogota (Colombia) in Brazilian Airspace when the crew needed to shut one of the four engines (Trent 556) down due to the loss of oil pressure.
- Aircraft drifted down to FL270 and diverted to Bogota for a safe landing about 2.5 hours later.
- Passengers reported they diverted to Bogota due to an engine failure and were taken to hotels, but were left without information of how and when their flight would continue.
