JetBlue reported operating income of US$296m in the fourth quarter and US$1.3bn for the full year, a decline of 10.4% from the fourth quarter of 2015 and a full year increase of 7.9% over 2015.
The airline reported pre-tax income of US$274m in the fourth quarter and US$1.2bn for 2016, a decrease of 9.6% from the fourth quarter of 2015 and a full year increase of 10.8% over 2015. JetBlue’s fourth quarter net income was US$172m and full year 2016 net income US$759m.
This compares to JetBlue’s fourth quarter 2015 net income of US$190m and 2015 net income of US$677m. JetBlue reported fourth quarter operating revenues of US$1.6bn. Revenue passenger miles for the fourth quarter increased 6% to US$11.2bn on a capacity increase of 4.5%, resulting in a fourth quarter load factor of 84.7%, a 1.1 point increase year over year.
