Overland Airways ATR 72 Bursts into Flames at the Airport

The ATR 72-202, belonging to Overland Airways, suffered a substantial damage after a fire erupted while the aircraft was undergoing maintenance at Lagos-Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Nigeria, on Friday.

The accident occurred before the maintenance hangars near the airport terminal, where the machine was just plugged into an external power source. The fire broke outside, on the right side of the fuselage.

Luckily, none was injured as the fire was quickly contained by fire fighters from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
