Reading Time: < 1 minuteAlthough the pandemic is not over, Turkish Airlines manages to operate almost 800 flights per day, making it the most active operator in Europe.
In the week ending April 4th, Turkish Airlines did an average of 797 flights, more than 32% from the level flying a month ago. According to Eurocontrol, it has been adding 14.4% additional flights every week. Lufthansa, Air France and Ryanair are next after the Turkish carrier by the average number of flights per day.
Turkish Airlines has also been evaluated high by the Safe Travel Barometer and given the score of 4.1 out of a maximum score of 5 for COVID safety. Other Turkey-based carriers were given lowers scores: AnadoluJet – 3.6 points, SunExpress – 3.5 and Pegasus – 3.1.
In March 2021, Eamonn Brennan, the director-general of Eurocontrol, posted on Twitter: “The busiest airline in the @eurocontrol Network is @TurkishAirlines, currently running about the half of the number of flights it made in 2019.”
