Reading Time: < 1 minuteA Ukraine Air Alliance Antonov AN-12 freighter was performing a flight UKL-4050 from Vigo, SP (Spain) to Istanbul (Turkey) with a stopover in Lviv (Ukraine) with 7 crew, one cargo attendant and 10 tons of cargo consisting of car parts when the crew had attempted an emergency landing due to running out of fuel.
Right before approaching the Lviv airport, the plane disappeared from the radar. Consequently, it was found on the ground approximately 1.5 km from the runway in soil and vegetation, near a soccer stadium and a cemetery. The investigation has been launched.
Five occupants were killed, three occupants were taken to hospitals with injuries.
On 5 October, 2019, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) revoked the status as authorized third country operator from the airline effectively disallowing the airline to operate within the airspace of the European Union.
On the same day, the operating certificate of Ukraine Air Alliance was revoked by the Ukrainian Authorities.
