North-West Transport Prosecutor’s office has just reported a collision of two private planes in the Leningrad region, due to which three people died. At the moment, criminalists are investigating the spot of the event to determine the circumstances.
The collided planes in Aerodrome Gostilitsy were Cessna that carried no passengers, and Piper, with a pilot and three passengers on board. The accident took place above the runway at 13:40 Moscow time. Both aircraft were performing a training flight.
Cessna was not seriously damaged and managed to land safely, whereas Piper crashed, and two people, including the pilot, died. Interfax has information that one person survived, and it is a child.
A criminal procedure has been initiated.
