More than 130 command and control centres of 7 CIS countries launched training of the Joint air defence system at 8.00 a.m. (MSK) on October 26.

Command and control centre of the Russian Aerospace Forces coordinates air defence duty forces of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan from the Moscow Region.

The servicemen are practicing operating in cases of the CIS state border breaching by different aircraft and providing aid to aircraft suffering distress.

Combat readiness inspection of the air defence duty forces started with detecting targets, which had been imitated by T-160, T-95MS and Tu-22M3 long-range bombers of the Russian Aerospace Force in the East European and Central Asian regions.

In total, about 100 aircraft, including Su-27, MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighters, Su-24 and Su-34 bombers, Su-25 attack aircraft, Tu-22, Tu-160 and Tu-95 long-range bombers, Ka-27 and Mi-8 helicopters, as well as units of radiotechnical troops and air defence missile troops of the Armed Forces of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are involved in the inspection.
