Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 767 Engine Fails and Catches Fire

Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 767-300 was in the initial climb out of Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar when it suffered right hand engine failure. 

The aircraft was en route to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, via Bamako, Mali, and carried 90 people on board.

Consequently, the engine caught fire and forced the crew to stop the climb and return to the airport of departure. Luckily, the plane performed safe landing about 8 minutes after departure.

According to the statement issued by Ethiopian Airlines, the fire broke out due to a technical problem.
