A Lufthansa Cityline Canadair CRJ-900, performing flight from Brussels (Belgium) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany) with 73 people on board, was descending towards Frankfurt when the crew reported light smoke on board.

The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Frankfurt’s runway 05C about 15 minutes later. The airline reported after takeoff from Brussels the crew noticed light smoke on board and informed Frankfurt Airport.

All occupants were able to disembark normally, emergency services were on a precautionary stand by and did not detect any trace of fire, heat or smoke after landing.

The source of the smoke is unknown, the aircraft is being examined.
